JPG to CSV Converter: Image to Spreadsheet via cURL
A JPG is a raster image, so a table photographed or scanned into one is only a grid of pixels. CSV is the opposite: plain text where every line is a record and commas separate the fields, ready for a spreadsheet, a database import or a script.
Optical character recognition is what connects the two. With OCR enabled in the request, GroupDocs.Conversion Cloud recognizes the characters printed in the picture and writes them out as delimited text, which is why receipts, invoices, printed reports and screenshots of tables are the common sources here.
The cURL examples below post the image and name CSV as the target format. Nothing is installed locally, the credentials are a Client ID and Secret, and the response contains the converted file. A free trial covers the first requests and the API Explorer runs them in a browser.
Results depend on the picture. A sharp, straight, well-lit image of printed text converts cleanly, while a blurred photograph at an angle needs a better capture before the text can be recovered.
