DJVU to MD: Convert Scanned Pages to Markdown in PHP
DjVu was built for scanned material. It separates a page into a text layer, a background and a colour mask, so a book, a manual or an old newspaper stays small at high resolution. What appears on the page is usually a picture of the letters and not the letters themselves.
Markdown, saved as .md, is plain text with light punctuation for headings, lists, links and emphasis. Static site generators, documentation repositories, wikis and note applications all read it, and it can be edited anywhere and tracked line by line in version control.
GroupDocs.Conversion Cloud runs optical character recognition over the scanned input, recovers the characters and writes them out as Markdown, one pairing among more than 153 formats. A long scan can be converted whole or restricted to a page range.
The PHP SDK submits the job and reads the reply. Every call is signed with the account credentials, a Client ID paired with a Secret. Scanned pages can be tried during the free trial, the API Explorer runs the operation interactively, and one document at a time passes through the browser based converter.
