DWG Viewer Online: Open AutoCAD Drawings with cURL
DWG holds the drawing data that AutoCAD writes: geometry, layers, blocks and annotation for a plan or a component. People outside the design team who receive such a file are usually unable to open it, since software that reads DWG correctly is expensive and heavy.
For those readers, rendering is the practical answer. GroupDocs.Viewer Cloud produces HTML for a browser, PDF for review and approval, or JPG and PNG when a report needs a flat picture of the drawing. Zoom, movement between pages and thumbnails accompany the rendered result.
Since the whole service is REST, a cURL command is a complete client. One request obtains a token from the Client ID and Secret, a second asks for the view, and the rendered pages are collected from the reply. Drawings protected by a password open when it accompanies the request.
